Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 22, 2026

Purpose of this notice

A security blog should be open about its own data practices. This notice describes how the operator of cubeguard.com (“we”) deals with personal information in connection with the Cubeguard site. Newsletters, advertising, analytics and affiliate features are discussed on the basis that they apply only where switched on. Contact [email protected] with any question.

Access logs

Web servers usually record each request: IP address, browser and device information, the page asked for, the referring address and the time. We use these logs to keep the site available, investigate faults and detect attacks or abuse. They are not used to identify or profile individual readers.

Cookies and similar tools

The site may set cookies or use local storage and pixels to remember settings, measure readership, deliver advertising and credit affiliate referrals. Where these functions are on, the analytics, advertising or affiliate providers may add identifiers of their own.

You can restrict or delete cookies through your browser, accepting that some functions may then fail and that some tracking techniques do not rely on cookies. We honour Global Privacy Control and similar opt-out signals where the law says we must. The Do Not Track header has no settled legal meaning and is not universally followed.

What you send us

An email or form message gives us your name, address and anything you add. It is used for replying, checking corrections and keeping a record of the exchange. Please do not send passwords, security codes, account numbers or copies of identity documents.

Newsletter subscriptions

When a newsletter exists, we use the email address you give to send issues and to apply your preferences. The sending platform may log delivery and engagement. Unsubscribe from any issue and we will retain only enough to avoid sending again.

Partners, embeds and disclosures

Advertising partners may receive device and browsing data to show and measure ads, which some privacy laws describe as sharing or targeted advertising. Affiliate links can pass a referral code to a retailer. Embedded videos and similar content may contact their provider on load. Providers of hosting, protection, email and analytics handle data for us or under their own notices, and linked websites have separate policies.

We may disclose information when legally required, to defend against fraud or abuse, or if the site changes hands.

Retention and protection

Data is kept for as long as it serves its purpose or the law requires, then deleted or de-identified. We use access controls and other reasonable measures to protect it, though no system can be made perfectly safe.

Cross-border processing

Providers may process data outside your country of residence. Where required, recognised safeguards apply to such transfers.

Your options

Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct or delete your information, limit or object to its use, or opt out of sharing for advertising. Email [email protected] to make a request. We may need to confirm your identity appropriately and will not treat you worse for asking.

Children

The site is aimed at adults. We do not knowingly gather personal information from anyone under 13, and we will erase it if we find that we have.

Revisions

We may amend this notice. The new version will carry an updated effective date, and further notice will be given where required by law.
